Resolution: The reason you see this error is because this title is not officially XP compatible. We list the compatible operating system on the package, and we took care to not list XP as it had some issues. As such, it is considered "unsupported" on this operating system.
However, you may find the following "compatibility mode" instructions useful. Please note that this is not a guarantee the the program will work properly on your system, but is simply the results of limited in-house testing.
1) Place disc in drive. If you get the autorun dialog asking to install, dismiss it without installing at this time.
2) Browse to your CD-ROM drive in Windows Explorer. You may need to right-click it and choose "Open" rather than double-clicking it to see the contents.
3) Right-click the SETUP.EXE icon with a shooting star and choose "Properties".
4) On the compatibility tab, select ALL of the options and make sure Windows 95 is selected. Then, click "OK".
5) Double-click the SETUP.EXE icon to launch the dialog asking you to install. Install the program normally.
6) After installation and registration, you will notice that you have a new yellow window up on screen asking you to play the game. You will see this window whenever you insert the disc after the program is installed. For best results, do not run the program from this window. Instead follow the directions, below.
7) To run Sesame Street Numbers after performing above, look for the icon in the Creative Wonders program group in your Start menu.
Please keep in mind that we are unable to offer further assistance with this program on Windows XP. We apologize if you cannot get these instructions working, but this operating system is not supported as the program says and the program was not marketed as "XP Compatible".
