They will also encounter more than one hundred species of plants and animals in four rainforest habitats. Students face continual decisions about how to survive, as well as how to fulfill their quest.

Issue Basic Troubleshooting
Description The following are Basic Troubleshooting techniques. These steps can be used on any program to attempt to alleviate any issue.
Solution Basic Troubleshooting
  1. Make sure the customer's machine meets or exceeds the program's minimum system requirements.
  2. Ensure that the Color Depth and Resolution are configured to match the display settings stated in the Minimum System Requirements. Do NOT set the resolution to 640x480 on a Windows 98 machine. 800x600 is acceptable for most of our programs, though it may not produce a full screen for the program.
  3. Close TSRs. Use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open Task Manager and close all applications except Explorer and Systray in ALL Windows platforms except Windows 98 or Windows 98SE, and Macintosh OS. In Windows 98 or Windows 98SE use MSCONFIG in the Run line and deselect all the items in the startup folder (Do NOT use MSCONFIG on a Compaq computer). In Mac OS configure the system to use minimum extensions.
  4. After closing TSRs, uninstall and reinstall, this ensures a CLEAN INSTALL of the software.
  5. Check the model, manufacturer, and properties of the CD-ROM drive. Configure the CD-ROM drive to Sync Data Transfer and set the Read Ahead Optimization to No Read-ahead. Also, ensure that the File System line under the Performance tab in System Properties says 32bit, and does not say Some drives are using MS-DOS compatibility mode.

Issue ISSET_SE Caused a General Protection Fault...
Description During the installation of Amazon Trail(r) 3rd Edition Rainforest Adventures(tm) the error message "ISSET_SE caused a GPF in module [various]" appears. The issue is often due to programs running in the background. It can also be caused when the listed mouse driver does not match the actual mouse device. Another reason may be that you are utilizing Point 32 or MSWheel mouse programs. Install the mouse driver that matches the actual mouse device being utilized. End task on the Point 32 or MSWheel programs.
Solution Closing Background Applications

1. Make sure there are no programs running in the background. Hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys at the same time. While these keys are being pressed, tap the Delete key once.

2. This will open a "Close Program" window, listing all the programs that are currently running. It is necessary to close all programs except Explorer and Systray. To do this, click on a name in the list, then click on the "End Task" button. The display will return to the desktop. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to return to the Close Program window.

3. Continue closing all background programs until just Explorer and Systray are shown in the Close Program window,    then press the Cancel button. Note: Some virus-scan programs, such as Norton Anti-Virus, must be disabled before the above procedure will work. Consult your Anti-Virus' program documentation for instructions on how to temporarily disable it.

Verify the Correct Mouse Driver

1. In the device manager, compare the listed mouse driver with the actual mouse attached to the computer.

2. If the listed mouse driver is incorrect, remove and re-install your mouse drivers.
