Backyard Football

In Backyard Football, football moves from the arenas and stadiums to the backyard as players assemble a team of seven kids to play either a single game or an entire season of backyard football. In addition to normal kids, players can choose several NFL players, represented as kids, to add to their team. The game includes a number of female players with the option to field an entire female team if so desired. As players win games, they are rewarded with special plays that can be used against the other teams. For instance, one play will knock the opposing team down while another one makes the team's jerseys and helmets into duplicates of the opposing team to confuse the Quarterback. Players can choose not only where they play, but the weather as well: sunny, rainy, or snowy. The games are announced by Sunny Day and Chuck Downfield who report on how the plays were executed and show statistics. Players have an entire playbook and can make their own custom plays as well. Other features in the game include a choice of all 31 NFL team names and logos, custom trading cards, a point-and-click interface, and a tracking system for lifetime game and season statistics. Backyard Football is targeted at players in the five-to-ten-year-old range. -- Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide

  4. When the tool finishes loading, click the Display tab.

In the Device section, next to Name is the name of your video card. You may want to write this down. The Manufacturer is the company that manufactured your video card.

If you can't find a driver or the manufacturer's site, refer to the documentation that came with the hardware or your computer for support.

Solution Clean the CD

Take a look at the under side of the CD and inspect for any fingerprints, dust, etc. If the CD does look dirty try cleaning via one of the following:

bulletUse a CD cleaning kit (available at most computer stores)
bulletWash it with lukewarm water and mild dish soap solution. Rinse it completely, and then dry it with a soft cotton cloth (or anything that won't scratch the CD or leave debris). Once the CD is dry, try the game again.
Notice: If you do this, Make sure that you do not scratch the CD or put it into your system while still wet or damage may result.

Disable 3rd party applications running in the background

To temporarily close any extra applications and services running in the background in Windows 95:

  1. Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys simultaneously on your keyboard.
  2. This will bring up the Close Program window.

This window will show all of the programs running currently on your system. We want to temporarily close all of these applications except for Explorer and Systray. The programs we close will restart when we reboot the computer. No permanent changes are being made. To close these other programs:

  3. Click once to highlight the first program listed.
  4. Hit the End Task button

Now repeat steps 1-4 to remove all other applications. Be careful not to hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice or this will cause your computer to reboot. Your computer will also reboot if you close Explorer or Systray or hit the Shut Down button.

This should temporarily close any conflicting background applications. These applications will start up again when you reboot.
