Problem: Nothing happens when the CD is inserted into the CD-ROM
drive in Windows '95 or '98. |
| |
|
Wait
about 10 seconds or so after inserting the CD to give your drive a
chance to read it. If nothing happens after 10 seconds, the Windows
95 feature called "AutoPlay" may be disabled on your system. Some
Packard Bell, IBM and other brands of computers have this feature
turned off by default.
Installing and Playing without AutoPlay
- Double-click on the "My Computer" icon on your Windows
'95 or '98 desktop.
- Double-click on the CD-ROM icon.
- Double-click on Blues123Time.exe.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Blue's 123 Time
Activities installation.

|
|
Problem: I see an error message that contains the words "Internal
Error Run out of Array" when I attempt to launch the game. |
| |
To fix
this problem, just follow these steps:
- Click on the Windows Start button.
- Select "Run" from the menu.
- In the window that appears, type HEGAMES.INI.
- Click on the OK button. This will open a file that
contains information about all of the Humongous entertainment
games that you have installed.
- Scroll down until you find the section for Blue's 123 Time
Activities.
- In this section, find the line that reads "NoDirectX=0".
- Change the 0 to a 1.
- Close the document, choosing yes when asked if you wish
to save.
If there is no line of text in the Blue's 123 Time Activities
section that reads "NoDirectX=0", you'll need to add it like this:
- Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, move the cursor to the
end of the last line of text in this section.
- Press the <Enter> key.
- Type in nodirectx=1.
- Press <Enter> again.
- Close the document.

Problem: slow video display |
| |
You
computer's video card is probably set to use too many colors. For
the fastest display possible, set your video card to "256 color"
mode. To change your color settings, please follow these simple
instructions:
- Click on the Windows '95 "Start" button.
- Click on "Settings"
- Click on "Control Panel".
- Double click on the "Display" icon.
- Click on the "Settings" tab.
- At the left of the Settings window is the color palette
option. Set this to 256 colors.
While in this Control Panel, you may wish to change your screen
area to 640x480 for better game performance, then click on the "Apply"
button. If your display does not look right after this, don't panic.
Leave your computer alone for approximately 15 seconds, and windows
will automatically restore your previous settings.
If you cannot switch over to the correct video mode, you may need to
re-install the video drivers for your card, or obtain updated
drivers from your computer manufacturer.
Finally, click on "OK", Restart your computer if
required, and try running the game again. |
|
|
Problem: The video display is choppy, or the entire screen gets
shifted, or the video display just doesn't look right. |
| |
You
probably need to update your video card drivers.
Most video card manufacturers keep their latest driver software
their Internet website for free downloading. If you do not have
Internet access, call your computer company's technical support line
and ask them how you may obtain updated drivers for your card.
Also, it is possible that your computer does not have DirectX
loaded, which is a required component for the game. This component
is on your Blue's 123 Time Activities CD-ROM, and can be installed
from there. |
|
|
Problem: Things that are not part of the picture appear at random. |
| |
You
probably need to update your video card drivers. We have noticed
this problem occasionally, especially on computers with Nvidia RIVA
128/128ZX video cards that do not have the latest drivers installed.
Most video card manufacturers keep their latest driver software
their Internet website for free downloading. If you do not have
Internet access, call your computer company's technical support line

|
Problem: Can't find Name |
| |
|
Sometimes
when you start the game, the last name you entered will not be at
the top of the list. Don't worry… just scroll up or down through the
list and the name will be there. |
|
|
Problem: Lockup after
Sign-in |
| |
|
This is
usually caused by having too many names in the sign-in book. The
game can only handle a certain number of names. If you get this
lockup, highlight a name you don't need, and click the eraser. |
|
|
Problem: No Sound or
Sound Distorted |
| |
You
probably need to update your sound card drivers.

their Internet website for free downloading. If you do not have
Internet access, call your computer company's technical support line

Humongous OS9 Enabler Patch
(9.41kb) |
|
Install Instructions
- After finishing the download process, find the
file named HE MacOS 9 Enabler. The icon will look like a
puzzle piece with the Humongous Entertainment logo on it. (By
default, most Macs should place downloads on the Desktop. If your
browser is set up to download files to a different location, check
that folder instead.)
Special Note: If you do not see the HE MacOS 9 Enabler
icon, but instead see a file called AX.CGI or AX.PL,
this means you either do not have the latest version of Aladdin
Expander Freeware, or your browser is not setup to automatically
decompress downloaded files. If this is the case, you will need to
download the latest version of Aladdin Expander Freeware from
Aladdin
Systems and then drag the AX.CGI file onto the Aladdin
Expander icon. This will decompress the HE MacOS 9 Enabler
file.
- Double click on the icon for your main hard
drive. Look for a folder called System Folder.
- Drag the HE MacOS 9 Enabler file into the
System Folder.
- A dialog box will appear which says This item
needs to be stored in the Extensions folder in order to be available
to the computer. Put He MacOS 9 Enabler into the
Extensions folder?" Click on the OK button.
- Restart your computer. You MUST do this before
the file will work.
- Your Humongous Entertainment games will now play
correctly.
Please Note: Before downloading the above patch, please make
sure you have the latest version of the Aladdin Expander Freeware
from
Aladdin Systems. This is the most popular Mac tool on the
internet for decompressing downloaded files, and will make the
download process go much more smoothly.
