Upon
trying to install the Black & Decker® Everyday Home Repairs™, the
program quits the install with an error.
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.
- Click start
- Then choose Settings and click Control Panel.
- Double click the System icon and click on the Performance
tab.
- Click the Graphics button at the bottom of the window.
- Find the Hardware Acceleration slide.
If it is at full, move it down two notches to the left so
that the window now says Basic accelerator functions.
- Click on the OK button.
- Close the system settings folder.
- Click yes when asked to restart the computer.

Sound
and Video Not Synchronized |

While
running Black & Decker® Everyday Home Repairs™, the sound and video
in the program are not synchronized. This
issue is typically caused by the color settings on the system not
being set correctly. Follow the instructions below to resolve this
issue.
- Click Start, select Settings and choose Control Panel.
- Double-click the Display icon.
- Click the Settings tab in the Display Properties window.
- Confirm that the Colors are set to 256 Colors.
NOTE: If 256 Colors is not an option, contact the video card
manufacturer for an updated video driver. |

Fonts Not
Displaying Properly |

While
using Black & Decker® Everyday Home Repairs™, the fonts on the
screen do not display properly. This issue appears when the standard
Windows® font, Arial, is not loaded on the system.
Make sure that the standard Windows® Arial font
installed.
To check for the Arial font, complete the following steps:
- Click Start, select Settings and choose Control Panel.
- Double-click the Fonts icon.
- Find the Arial font icon and double-click on it.
- Make sure that file size is at least 64K.
- If the file size is less than 64K, contact your computer
manufacturer or Microsoft® for assistance in reinstalling this
font.
