Issue Jewish Calendar Annual Events
Description
Solution The Jewish year is not the same length as a solar year on the Gregorian calendar, which is used by most of the western world. As a result, the date shifts on the Gregorian calendar. Use the following procedure to add an event corresponding to the Jewish calendar so that it appears in the correct date on a standard Gregorian calendar. To enter a Hebrew birthday as an annually repeating event according to the Jewish calendar, complete these steps:

  1. Double-click the desired date. The Add Event dialog box will open.

  2. In the Description field, type the name of the person and the birth date.

  3. Click the Repeat Rule button. The Repeats dialog box will appear.

  4. Change the year in the Repeat Until field to reflect a date that is greater than the Start Date by at least two years.

  5. Click the Every radio button. The field to the immediate right of Every should read one (1).

  6. Use the drop-down menu to the right to select Hebrew (Birth). The repeat date will show in green on the small calendar (upper-right).

  7. Confirm that the Exceptions list box indicates No Exceptions.

  8. Confirm that the Weekend Occurrences field indicates Do Not Move.

  9. Click OK to close the Repeats dialog box.

  10. Click OK again to close the Add Event dialog box.

Issue Palm Tree Appears Instead of Selected Graphic
Description
Solution When inserting a graphic onto a calendar, an image of a palm tree appears in place of the selected graphic. Many possibilities can cause this issue. In some instances, cleaning the CD will resolve the issue. In other cases, updating drivers or uninstalling and reinstalling the program or both will help to resolve the issue. The remainder of this technical note describes how to proceed. Begin with the first procedure and continue as necessary. Try the program after completing a procedure before continuing with another set of steps.

Cleaning the CD
  1. Place a small amount of nonabrasive, liquid soap on the shiny side of the CD that contains the desired graphic.

  2. Using your fingertips and warm water, gently rub the soap in a circular motion on the CD.

  3. Rinse the CD thoroughly and dry it using a clean, soft T-shirt or lint-free towel. Do not use paper towels or tissue paper.

  4. Place the CD that contains the desired graphic into the CD-ROM drive.

  5. Open Calendar Creator™ 9 and try inserting a graphic again.
NOTE: If this issue remains after cleaning the CD and another CD or DVD drive is present on the system, place the CD in the other drive, wait at least 30 seconds and try inserting a graphic again.

If no other CD or DVD drives are present or the issue remains after completing the above procedure, continue with the steps that follow.

bulletIf a graphic is inserted from the Art Gallery and a full installation was performed, uninstall and reinstall the program.
