The following methods fix the majority of issues. Please try these
before contacting technical support. |
| |
| Method 1: Disable
any Antivirus or Firewall software
Make sure you have disabled any Antivirus or Firewall software
you may have. Some examples of these programs are Norton Antivirus,
Trend Micro, Mcaffee and Zone Alarm. These types of programs have a
tendency to create conflicts with files/programs necessary for the
game to run. Please see the manufacturers website for instructions
on how to temporarily disable your software.
Method 2: Update Your Video Driver
Contact the manufacturer of your video card to inquire about how
to obtain and install the latest version of the video driver for
your video card or visit the Windows Update site to look for
applicable drivers
To identify the name and manufacturer of your video adapter:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
- Click the Display tab.
- Under Device, look for Name and Manufacturer.
- Click Exit.
Method 3: Update Your Sound Driver
Contact the manufacturer of your sound card to inquire about how
to obtain and install the latest version of the sound driver for
your sound card or visit the Windows Update site to look for
applicable drivers. (See the "Method 4" section of this article for
contact information.)
To identify the name and provider of your sound driver:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
- Click the Sound tab.
- Under Device, look for Name, under Driver, look for
Provider.
- Click Exit.
Method 4: Install the Latest Motherboard Chipset Drivers
If you are using an Intel chipset motherboard, you may be able to
resolve this issue by installing the most recent drivers for the
chipset. Check www.intel.com for the latest drivers available. If
you are using a VIA Technologies chipset motherboard, you may be
able to resolve this issue by installing the most recent drivers for
the chipset. Check www.viaarena.com for the latest drivers
available.
For all other motherboard drivers, please contact the motherboard
manufacturer for the most recent drivers available.
Method 5: Restart Your Computer by Using a Clean Boot
Procedure
When you start Microsoft Windows, typically there are a number of
programs that start automatically and run in the background that may
interfere with the game. These programs may include antivirus and
system utility programs. When you perform a clean boot, you prevent
these programs from starting automatically. You must be logged on as
an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to complete
this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network
policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.
To restart your computer by using a clean boot procedure, follow
these steps when you are using Windows XP.
Note You may experience a temporary loss of some services
functionality when you follow these steps. Restoring the settings
restores the functionality, but may result in the return of the
original error message or behavior.
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click OK.
- On the General tab, click Selective Startup.
- Under Selective Startup, click to clear the following check
boxes:
 | Process SYSTEM.INI File |
 | Process WIN.INI File |
 | Load Startup Items
|
On the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft
Services check box, and then click Disable All.
Click OK, and then click Restart.
* By replacing the checks in the boxes and restarting the computer
after testing the game, you can return your computer to the same
status as before you cleared the check boxes.
Method 6: Remove and Reinstall the Game
If the issue continues to occur, remove and then reinstall the
game on a clean-booted computer. Follow these steps to remove and
reinstall the game:
Uninstall:
- Make sure you're on your desktop with all windows closed
- Click on Start
- Select Settings
- Left-Click on Control Panel
- Double-Click on Add/Remove Programs
- Left-Click on the name for the program you want to remove

directories that remained.
Delete remaining file folders:
- Make sure you're on your desktop with all windows closed
- Double-Click on My Computer
- Double-Click on C:\
- Follow the original installation path from uninstall
remaining directories and delete them
- That should place the folder into your recycling bin, you
may remove these files later

taskbar)
- While holding down both the Ctrl and Alt key, press
delete on your keyboard
- You should get a Close Program window
- Left-Click on the name, and hit the End Task button
- Make sure that you do this for every entry with the
exception of "Explorer" and "Systray", those two files are
required for any program to run under windows.
- When you have only "Explorer" and "Systray" left in the
window it means you have closed all background programs.
- Note that when you restart your computer and programs
will open again, and you will have to repeat the process.
- Install the Program:
- Insert the Disc
- Autoplay should commence
- Left-Click on "Install"
- Follow the instructions to install the program
Method 7: Adjust Graphics Hardware Acceleration

- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control
Panel.
- Double-click Display.
- On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
- Click the Troubleshoot tab.

account.
Windows XP Professional Edition
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User
Accounts.
- On the Users tab, click Add.
- Type a name for your user account, your full name, and a
description for your account.
- If your computer is set up as part of a client/server
network, type the domain name, and then click Next.
Note: If your computer is set up as an individual computer
(without a network) or in a peer-to-peer network, you do not
have to provide a domain name.
- Type a user password, and then type the user password again
to confirm it.
Important: Passwords are case-sensitive. For example, "MyPassword"
and "mypassword" are treated as two different passwords.
- Click Next.
- Select the level of access for your user account, and then
click Finish.
Note Some games require a user account with Administrator level
access to run. |

Laptops not supported |
| |
| Our products have not
been tested to be used on laptop computers. Laptops are all-in-one
devices that combine a monitor, CPU, keyboard, video and audio
cards. Because of this, some resources are ‘shared’ or ‘integrated’.
Also the CPU or processors have a different architecture than that
of desktop PC's. Therefore the device performance is different and
game stability cannot be guaranteed.
While we do not support or test our products on laptops, that
does not neccessarily mean that they will not run. We would
recommend that you update all device drivers associated with your
laptop and try the game. If this still does not work, then I would
like to re-iterate that unfortunately there is no further help or
support we can provide you. |

16 Bit
Windows Subsystem error during install |
| |
This is a Windows XP and
Windows 2000 exclusive error message. If you recieved this error
message, then a windows file 'autoexec.nt' has been removed from the
system32 directory. Please follow the instructions below to fix this
issue:
- Select start
- Select search
- Select all files and folders from the list
- Type in autoexec.nt in the search field (this should bring
up at least one option located in the C:\windows\repair folder
- Right click on this entry and select copy
- Double click on My Computer (may be on the start menu or
desktop)
- Select the C: drive
- Double click on the Windows folder
- Double click on the System32 folder
- Choose edit from the top and select paste
- Close all windows and try installing the program again
If the above workaround does not fix your issue, then the
autoexec.nt file has been corrupted and is unusable. From what we
have seen this issue happens because spyware software (not a virus)
has corrupted your 16 bit windows application files in your windows
install. You will need to replace or repair this file. Please try
downloading and running the following fix:
