Aunt Lucy is about to celebrate her 100th birthday. In honor of this, Mr. Brown has bought two round-the-world tickets for Paddington and his friend Mr. Gruber so that they can visit her in Peru and also see some of the famous sights.

But when they arrive at the Home for Retired Bears in Lima, they find that Aunt Lucy has mysteriously disappeared. They telephone the Browns back in London, only to discover that a postcard has arrived for Paddington from Aunt Lucy, posted from somewhere in the world.

Mr. Gruber and Paddington decide to travel and find her. They follow her trail around the world.

Finally they arrive back in London, where they discover that Aunt Lucy herself has just arrived. She won a round-the-world trip in a competition and decided to visit Paddington to celebrate her 100th birthday! Mrs. Bird has made her a cake with 100 candles and Paddington helps her blow them out.
