Issue Unable to Use Disc 2
Description After inserting the Personalized Learning Center CD into the CD-ROM drive, the following message appears: "In order to use the Personalized Learning Center™, you must install a Reader Rabbit® or Clue Finders® product enhanced with the ADAPT Learning Technology and have at least one user signed in."
Solution Installing a Reader Rabbit® or a Clue Finders™ product should allow the Personalized Learning Center™ CD to be properly used.
Issue Cannot Find Assessment.bmp
Description The error "Cannot Find Assessment.bmp" is received during the installation or use of Reader Rabbit® Personalized 2nd Grade™ (ADAPT). This issue typically indicates that a 16-bit driver or an inappropriate driver is being used. Verifying that the correct driver is present and updating the driver if needed should resolve the issue.
Solution Check the Device Manager for the CD-ROM listing and verify if the driver needs updated by completing the procedure below.
  1. Exit all programs and return to the desktop.
  2. Right-click the My Computer icon.
  3. Select Properties from the menu that appears.
  4. Click the Device Manager tab.
  5. In the window that opens, locate the CD-ROM listing. (This listing is usually second from the top.)

NOTE: If no listing is shown, a 32-bit driver is not installed for the CD-ROM drive. Contact the computer manufacturer for additional assistance.

If the listing does not match the actual CD-ROM model installed in the computer or a generic listing (ATAPI or EIDE) is shown, a more appropriate driver may be required to properly read the cd. (Consult the computer manufacturer to verify the manufacturer of the CD-ROM drive used in the system and take the necessary steps to install the proper driver for that model.)

Issue 256 Colors Required
Description Reader Rabbit's® 2nd Grade™ Personalized v 1.0 requires that the Colors (Windows® 98) or Color Palette (Windows® 95) setting be set to 256 Colors. Solution Complete the following steps to remove a name from the sign-in screen:
  1. Click once on the name of the player to be removed.
  2. Press and hold the CTRL key (Windows®) or Control key (Macintosh®) while you tap the R key on the keyboard.

NOTE: Another way to gain access to the learning activities is to use a different name at the sign-in screen.

(If it reads anything else, contact the computer manufacturer for installation of the proper CD-ROM or hard drive drivers.)
  1. Verify that the most current version of the driver for the CD-ROM drive is being used. Contact the computer manufacturer for additional information.
  2. Try to use a different disc in the CD-ROM drive to see if it can be read.
  3. If possible, insert the CD that is not being recognized into the CD-ROM drive of another computer to see if the issue remains.
