The Legend of the Prophet & the Assassin

In the Middle East, at the conclusion of the Crusades in the 13th century, a Knight Templar has deserted the Order and become a feared bandit. After years of nomadic life, with a troubled conscience, Tancrède de Nérac, known as As-Sayf—the Scimitar—learns of a prophet named Simon de Lancrois who has built an ideal, peaceful city. For five years he searches for it, but when at last he arrives, the city is in ruins. He vows to exact revenge on the deceitful prophet for misleading him, and thus begins a search that will lead him through hostile deserts, flourishing cities, and a mysterious monastery.
