Description
Solution Make sure that QuickTime 4 is installed. If not, reinstall it (just rerun setup from the disc and do not select custom install). If you believe QT4 is installed please do the following to resolve the issue:

  1. Click on START

  2. Click on SETTINGS

  3. Click on CONTROL PANEL

  4. Double-click on the QT4 icon (it is a blue 'Q').
If it is not in the control panel then QT4 is not installed and will need to be reinstalled from the programme disc.

  5. Once in the QT Settings box, click on the down arrow and choose "Video Settings"

  6. Tick the circle that says Safemode (GDI Only)

  7. Click on the down arrow again and choose Sound Out

  8. Under where is says "Device" it should read "DirectSound"

  9. Click on the down arrow again, and choose "Wave Out"

  10. Make sure that the rate is set to 22.050 kHz.

  11. Click on the cross in the upper right hand corner and try to run the program.

Issue The certificate prints out in black and white, even when printing on a colour printer.
Description
Solution This is intentional - the certificate is designed to print in black and white for children to colour in.

It is referred to in the Notes for parents part of the product, which you can get to by clicking on the suitcase.

Issue We receive the error "Wx32 - Wx32 has caused an error in WX32.EXE"
Description
Solution We have since discovered and confirmed that changing the map scrolling settings in the program can fix this issue.

After starting the program, go into the suitcase (in the bedroom). This suitcase is just below the map. Click on options on the lower part of the screen (It is between copy and quit). This will bring up an option dialog box. Look for Map Scrolling. (Left hand side of the screen, third item down. The default setting will have a check to the left of Map Scrolling. Click on this, this will turn the check into an X.

Now you will be able to move as many times as you want on the map. The only thing that it changes visibly is that when you move, the frame doesn't scroll down, up, etc, but quickly flips to the next frame. It will look like it is turning the page of a book.

If this does not resolve your problem it will be caused by a corrupt user file. If you start the game with a new user name the problem should not occur

Description
Solution To resolve this problem you will need to update your sound card driver to the latest version. This can be obtained and installed from the manufacturers website. To find the make, model and manufacturer of your sound card you will need to check the original documentation supplied with your PC.
